Annual report for Maryland corporations: due date, fee, and late penalty

Annual report

Due
Due April 15 each year (next business day if it falls on a weekend). A free 60-day extension to June 15 is granted if requested online by April 15.
First one
The first report is due April 15 of the year after incorporation.
Fee
$300 flat for a stock corporation, owed whether or not the business had income or activity. Non-stock corporations file the same report at no charge.
Frequency
Annual

If it is late

A late penalty starts at $30 and rises with lateness and any assessed business property, capped at $500, plus interest. A corporation that stays unfiled is placed on the state forfeiture list on an annual cycle, roughly a year and a half after the missed deadline.
