Questions
01Where does this data come from?
Every figure comes from the City of Seattle's Customer Service Requests dataset, the city's record since 2013, refreshed daily. The dataset carries no closing date, so a report shows whether a request is open or closed but not how long it took.
02Do complaints show who filed them?
No. The public dataset carries no names or contact details. A report shows the complaints at an address and nothing about the people who filed them.
03Why does my address return nothing?
The dataset stores the street address with postal abbreviations, followed by the city, state and zip, like 600 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104. Search for the street line alone, without an apartment or unit number. If nothing comes back, the city logged no request there in the last 12 months.
