Questions

01Where does this data come from?

Every figure comes from NYC Open Data's 311 Service Requests dataset, the city's own public record of complaints since 2020. The city refreshes it daily, and searches read it live.

02Do complaints show who filed them?

No. The public dataset carries no names or contact details, so a report shows what was filed at an address, never who filed it.

03Why does my address return nothing?

The dataset stores street addresses without apartment numbers, so search for the building alone, like 128 Mott Street. A building with no result has had no complaint in the last 12 months.
